This course recovers the full clinical logic of classical medical astrology: the four elements, the four qualities (hot, cold, wet, dry), the four humors (blood, yellow bile, phlegm, black bile), and the temperaments they produce (sanguine, choleric, phlegmatic, melancholic). Students learn to calculate temperament astrologically using the methods of Lilly, Gadbury, and Fage — and to associate those findings through clinical assessment by interview and examination. The course then moves into applied practice: diet and regimen by humor, diseases of each humor, and herb selection by sympathy or antipathy.
