2. Astrological Fundamentals: Movement & Forecasting

2.3. W112A / W112B Practicum: Applied Rectification and Unification of Forecasting Techniques

W112A or W113A Required for the Professional Diploma
Prerequisite: A solid knowledge of astrology fundamentals and W110 or proof of equivalent training in movement techniques

W112A Practicum: Rectification 1

Instructors: Carol Tebbs, Gloria Scigliano

Birth time recording is too variable for reliability with estimated or rounded times leading to inaccurate forecasting. Chart angles should be confirmed by aligning appropriate astrological descriptors to life events or situations near the correct date. Once ten or more important life events appropriately align near the correct date, the pattern gives confidence in the birth time derived from that information. W112A focuses on time range searches from a few minutes up to six hours and meets the PAA/NCGR rectification requirement for their Level IV professional certification.

Topics covered include:

  • Learning the important areas of practice and controversy in rectification
  • Testing major life turning points for activation of the possible natal angles by moving planets to angles and angles to planets with several techniques
  • Advising the client to search family resources to narrow the birth time range
  • Establishing the most effective methods for narrowing the time range from Solar Arc Directions, to Secondary Progressions, Outer Transits, and more.
  • Dealing with ranges of data accuracy from AA to DD (Dirty Data) that often lead to several possible birth times to test for appropriate astrological descriptors of actual life events aligning correctly near the given date.

By the end of W112A, Students will learn the limitations of the rectification process in aligning appropriate astrological descriptors with actual life situations or events. They will understand that the client is instrumental in verifying the interpretive results in verifying a known birth time, or narrowing a search time range.

W112B Practicum: Rectification II

Instructors: Carol Tebbs, Gloria Scigliano
Optional Elective - not required for the diploma

Technology advances have created a global community for the 21st century, but there is an extreme disparity in recording birth time worldwide – in fact, many countries do not record birth time at all. Without birth time, interpretation is limited – we do not have houses for the planets or sign descriptors for the angles. W112B focuses on techniques to narrow the 6 to 24-hour time range to a specific and workable birth time. Once ten or more important life events appropriately align near the correct date, the pattern gives confidence in the birth time derived from that information. This course meets the PAA/NCGR rectification requirements for Level IV professional certification.

Topics covered include:

  • The important areas of practice and controversy in rectification
  • Test major life turning points for activation of the possible natal angles by moving planets to angles and angles to planets with several techniques
  • Advise the client to search family resources to narrow the birth time range
  • Establishing the most effective methods for narrowing the time range from the easiest, Solar Arc Directions, to the more complex Secondary Progressions.
  • Dealing with ranges of data accuracy from AA to DD (Dirty Data) that lead to several possible birth times to test appropriate astrological descriptors of actual life events aligning correctly near the given date.

By the end of the course, students will know the important areas of practice and controversy in rectification. They will demonstrate knowledge of timing all planetary cycles: transit, progression, and direction as shown in the student’s final rectification presentation, evaluate the importance of activated natal chart angles at important events, and test potential birth times with several movement measures for appropriate alignment with life events within the birth time range.
