E209 - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Aspects in Astrology - Summer 2024-25

Whilst aspects are of cardinal importance, being able to interpret them is often very challenging, and not just for beginning and intermediate students. The aim of this course is to help participants become more confident in interpreting aspects.   And to have some fun whilst doing so.

We will cover the different types of aspects and how they differ in meaning and usage.

• The conjunction and division of the circle by multiples of 2 and 3 to arrive at hard and soft aspects. 
• Orbs. Prioritizing different aspects with respect to what is being aspected, the type of aspect it is, and orbs. 
• Working with aspect patterns—the T square and Grand Cross, etc.
• The quintile and septile series.

There will be lots of examples to illustrate the various points made, quizzes for students to work on. Using examples, it will be shown how consideration of given aspects and cycles is key not only to natal chart interpretation but also to forecasting and mundane work.

Course objectives:  

It is hoped that students will have far greater breadth and depth of understanding with respect to angles, planets and aspects. Greater confidence in chart interpretation overall. Participants should find interpreting aspects somewhat easier than they did before. For starters, they will know which aspects are central to an understanding of the given chart/situation and which ones are of lesser priority. Never again, will they ignore semi-squares and sesquiquadrates! 

Pre-requisites:

The course is suitable for all levels of knowledge though it is hoped that participants will be conversant with planets, signs and houses.
